The games in this resource are non-competitive, adaptable activities that can be used with individuals of any age (from youth to senior) who have varying levels of cognitive differences including: Dementia (Young onset dementia, Mild Cognitive Impairment, Vascular dementia, Mixed dementia, Frontotemporal dementia, Lewy body dementia), Autism Spectrum Disorder (including Aspegers and Autism), Down Syndrome and brain injuries (traumatic brain injury and acquired brain injury).

When working with individuals with cognitive differences there are some factors that need to be taken into consideration. They may include the areas of executive functioning (working memory, cognitive flexibility and inhibitory control), social interactions, mobility issues and a sense of fairness. The games in this resource have simplified instructions, reduced competition, reduced mobility and basic steps.

These games teach social, motor, verbal as well as reasoning skills through fun and play.
